If your sliding sash windows are in less than ideal working order then our recondition & draught seal procedure will restore your wooden windows to their former functionality, with the added benefits of high performance, concealed weather seals. Our draught seals serve several purposes within sash windows
All our work is designed to be as unobtrusive as possible, being machined into the wooden mouldings to become an "invisible" part of the sash window.
Don't forget that the greatest energy saving comes from eliminating draughts. English Heritage recommend the installation of this type of draught proofing as... “ ...one of the best and least intrusive ways of achieving improved performance from windows in old buildings. This will considerably reduce heating bills and energy use.........reduce noise and dust ingress......... Most importantly, draught proofing does not damage the visual aesthetics of an old building.” (English Heritage Framing Opinions Campaign)

CASEMENT WINDOWS & DOORSBinding or inoperable hinged joinery is a common problem. Our recondition and draught seal service will leave your traditional casement windows and doors in full working order, without the draughts.. The joints are inspected and secured before
the item is adjusted to correctly fit the frame. Our discreet draught
strip is then machined into the edges. The seal allows for expansion
and contraction of the wood, preventing the problem of binding against
the frame. |
